Szymon Ćwikliński

Born in 1988 in Szamotuły.

A graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the University of Arts in Poznań (currently Magdalena Abakanowicz University in Poznań). He worked on his diploma thesis in the studio of prof. Andrzej Zdanowicz. In the 2015/16 academic year, he was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding artistic achievements.

 

He was twice awarded the Rector's Scholarship for the best UAP students. Lions Club Poznań Polonia scholarship holder for 20015/2016/2017. In 2016/2017 he was an assistant in the 4th Painting Studio of prof. Andrzej Zdanowicz at the University of Arts in Poznań. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Wielkopolska Association of Artists, where he serves as a member of the Artistic Committee. He has participated in 70 collective and 10 individual exhibitions. In 2022, he was honored by the Marshal of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, Marek Woźniak, with the distinction "Meritorious for the Greater Poland Voivodeship". First place winner in eight art competitions. He creates in many fields of art, such as drawing, painting, and workshop graphics. He has exhibited in Poland and abroad, including: in Tielt (Belgium) and Sottrum (Germany). His works are in private collections in Poland and abroad, including: in Germany, Italy, the USA, Belgium and in the collections of the Górków Castle Museum in Szamotuły. In his painting, he deals with the topic of landscape and man in relation to place. An important aspect of his painting is light and space created through expressive painting gestures. In his landscapes, he looks for air in the space of the atmospheric climate found in a given place and tries to interpret it through his painting language.
