Anna Sztucka

She is a multidisciplinary artist seeking her expression in ceramics, assemblage and painting. She began exploring art at an early age. As a child she took part in numerous art competitions, only to later graduate from the Liceum Plastyczne at the School of Fine Arts in Wrocław (secondary school). Additionally in her native Wrocław, she received her degree at the graduate studio of Prof. Lipska-Zworska at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass. After emigrating, she spent the following 25 years in Canada and the United States, travelling almost the entire time. This provided her with diverse inspirations for her artistic creations, her travels to Mexico in particular, where the intensity of colours and light are unique and have been reflected in her art. As a nature-lover, she paints outdoors watching the constantly changing light, the little plants, weeds and garden flowers or the ground, the flaming rose bushes (particularly one near the road to Ślęża) or a small tomato plot submerged in the afternoon heat. Her paintings are a continuation of the Polish impressionist masters, J. Stanisławski and A. Gierymski.
