He was born on 8 February 1957. In 1976—1981 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (PWSSP, now University of Arts, UA) and graduated with honours in 1981. In 1984 he received the M. Dokowicz foreign scholarship for the best diploma in 1981. Since 1982 he has been working as a teacher for the Graphics Unit at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. At the same time, since 1995, he has been head of the Serigraphy Workshop at the UA in Poznań. In 1996—1999 he headed the Graphics Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 1999—2002 he was vice-dean and dean of the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture there, and in 2002—2008 dean of the Graphics Department. Currently he is the University of Arts Rector’s Proxy for Publications and Promotion. He bears the title of professor.
