Milena Romanowska

She studied at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź in 1984-1990, receiving her diploma in painting while at the studio headed by Prof. Jerzy Kudukis, and her diploma in unique textiles at the studio led by Prof. Aleksandra Mańczak in 1990.

In 1993, she visited Paris on a creative scholarship awarded by the Foundation of Independent Culture.

In 1991-1995, she worked as an art critic with the editorial offices of the major Polish daily “Gazeta Wyborcza” and the quarterly “Tygiel Kultury”. She is the author of many critical and monographic texts in exhibition catalogues.

In 2009, she received her PhD in painting from the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

Since 2010, she has run a painting studio as part of the Chair of Graphic Art at the Social Academy of Sciences in Łódź.

She is interested in painting and drawing, and is also active designing exhibition arrangements in the public space and graphic designs. Her works are held in the collections of museums and galleries as well as private collections in Poland and abroad.
