He was born in 1948 in Szczecin. He studied printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan (now University of Arts), from which he graduated in 1974. His creative activity focuses on print, drawing, painting and illustration art. Since 1974 he has been working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, where he heads one of the drawing studios. At the same time he is the head of the drawing and print studio at the Higher School of Applied Arts in Szczecin. He is an academic professor.

He has organized over 50 solo exhibitions and participated in 150 group exhibitions at home and abroad (France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Cuba, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Russia, Germany, Norway, Finland, Argentina, U.S., Australia, Netherlands, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden and Senegal).
